Course Overview:

This Motivational Interviewing Training Course provides hands-on instruction in the coding process of the Motivational Interviewing Competency Assessment (MICA). Led by MICA lead author, MINT Certified Training, and International Expert, Casey Jackson, this MI training course helps professionals evaluate whether a practitioner’s communication reflects competency in Motivational Interviewing.

As Motivational Interviewing continues to evolve, demand is increasing for structured MI training that includes coding tools for feedback, supervision, fidelity evaluation, and skill development. This course builds applied knowledge of the MICA coding manual.

This course requires a foundational understanding of Motivational Interviewing, and it is recommended that attendee’s be measurably competent in their Motivational Interviewing practice and application.

Course Format:

Continuing Education

This training is designed for social workers and behavioral health professionals. IFIOC #1485 is approved as a provider for social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) www.aswb.org through the Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. IFIOC maintains responsibility for the program. Social workers participating in this training will receive 15 continuing education clock hours. Professionals should contact their individual regulatory board to review current continuing education requirements for licensure renewal. ASWB Approval Period: 05/30/2024 – 05/30/2027.
