About this Introductory Motivational Interviewing Training Course:
Welcome to Introduction to Motivational Interviewing! This Motivational Interviewing training course goes beyond basic frameworks and acronyms to focus on the underlying mechanisms that drive sustained behavior change. Participants will explore the “physics of behavior change” and learn how to apply Motivational Interviewing in a way that is both strategic and person-centered.
Through a combination of instruction, demonstration, and guided practice, this course helps professionals strengthen their ability to evoke motivation, navigate ambivalence, and respond effectively in real-world conversations.

Continuing Education
This training is designed for social workers and behavioral health professionals. IFIOC #1485 is approved as a provider for social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) www.aswb.org through the Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. IFIOC maintains responsibility for the program. Social workers participating in this training will receive 10 continuing education clock hours. Professionals should contact their individual regulatory board to review current continuing education requirements for licensure renewal. ASWB Approval Period: 05/30/2024 – 05/30/2027.
