Designed for practitioners who have completed an Introduction to Motivational Interviewing, this course expands on core concepts with a deeper focus on the Focus and Planning processes within the MI framework

About this Advanced Motivational Interviewing Training Course:

This live streaming training series is designed to enhance practical communication skills that can be applied immediately in real-world settings. Building on foundational MI concepts, this course emphasizes advanced application of the four processes of Motivational Interviewing, with additional attention to the Focus and Plan components of the MI approach.

Grounded in Evidence-Based Practice, the training is tailored to participant needs and emphasizes skill development over theory. Participants will engage in video demonstrations, guided practice, and interactive exercises designed to strengthen real-time application.

The training also addresses how MI can reduce practitioner stress and burnout by improving communication efficiency and increasing client ownership of the change process.

Continuing Education

This training is designed for social workers and behavioral health professionals. IFIOC #1485 is approved as a provider for social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) www.aswb.org through the Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. IFIOC maintains responsibility for the program. Social workers participating in this training will receive 10 continuing education clock hours. Professionals should contact their individual regulatory board to review current continuing education requirements for licensure renewal. ASWB Approval Period: 05/30/2024 – 05/30/2027.
