Our favorite session at the convention was offered by Casey Jackson of IFIOC. ‘Insightful, interactive, engaging, life-changing, and inspirational’ were the words used over and over to describe Mr. Jackson and his presentation in the evaluation comments. Working with the IFIOC staff was easy and efficient, and we look forward to having them back to do more training for our members.

I found MI training to be an extremely valuable tool as a supervisor. I use reflective communication (equipoise) all the time in supervision as a means to empathically listen to the employee’s feelings/issues.thoughts/resistances, etc., which decreases my tendencies to want to “control” the situation and other pitfalls in management, like taking the situation personally or taking the situation home with me.
